A Wild Ride With Vince Vaughn
Orren Alex Hallmark

"I love you Vince!!" was the most common quote of the evening as Vince Vaughn gracefully appeared on stage for the first of many quick appearances as he hosted his own Wild West Comedy Tour. Along for the ride were comics such as Bret Ernst, John Caparulo, Ahmed Ahmed (yes his first and last name are the same), Sebastian Maniscalco, and a couple surprise guests. One of them being Keir O'Donnell who played Todd Cleary in the recent summer hit "Wedding Crashers." Todd played a sexually confused young man who eventually tries to rape Vince Vaughn's character. The skit with the two of them together on stage was priceless with each performing their respective roles in Wedding Crashers and then Keir would pass out paintings of stick figures that resembled the two of them doing "homo" things. One painting that sticks out in my mind is where Vince is playing twister by himself with Keir watching in the corner. The improv dialogue that Vince used during that whole skit was priceless as they interacted with the crowd.

Another surprise guest was Peter Billingsley, who played Ralphi Parker in "A Christmas Story." Vince and Peter went over an early work of them in an anti-steroid TV infomercial. They played out the cheesy acting live and showed some of the actual footage on the big screen. You see a tall skinny afro kid lecturing a dork in black glasses on the use of steroids. What makes it even funnier is the girls were screaming their loudest during the clip of a 20 year old Vince.

The comics had their own unique styles of performing standup which kept the show fresh and new throughout the 2 hour period. Look for Ahmed Ahmed more because that guy is an up and coming sitcom pilot waiting to happen.

Vince closed the show with a karaoke song of Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline" which reminded me of the more classic Rat Pack days with Vince taking a Dean Martin approach. It was a different but satisfying way of closing out the show. From what I'm reading on forums from other fans who attended different shows, each show seems to have different skits done by Vince. Examples: he was playing a guitar on stage; he does a skit using people from the audience.

Orren's Rating: 8.5 "I would have liked to see Vince do more stand up and improv but otherwise a well rounded and funny ass show!"
